In furtherance of his commitment to economic empowerment and grassroots development, Hon. Anamero Dekeri Sunday, Member Representing Etsako Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, has successfully completed a Mini Garri Processing Line at Ewo Market, Okpella, in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.
The newly completed facility is designed to support local farmers, traders, and processors by providing a modern and efficient platform for cassava processing into garri. This intervention is expected to significantly reduce post-harvest losses, improve productivity, and enhance income generation for women and youths who dominate cassava processing activities in the area.
Speaking on the project, Hon. Anamero reiterated that sustainable economic growth begins at the community level:
“Our people are hardworking. What they need is support and the right infrastructure. This garri processing line is aimed at easing production, increasing output, and strengthening local businesses.”
The Ewo Market processing facility is part of a broader agro-economic empowerment drive across Etsako Federal Constituency, which includes the provision of farming inputs, boreholes, solar streetlights, classroom blocks, and other livelihood-support projects.
Community members and market stakeholders have expressed appreciation for the project, describing it as timely and impactful for daily economic activities in Okpella.
